My name is Sven Schröder.
I am the managing director of Essing Sprengtechnik GmbH.
Dealing with explosives has been a constant theme in my life for almost 30 years. After school and vocational training, I completed my first year of service in the German armed forces - and I stayed.
In 1997, I began my military training as a sergeant major. I was then trained as an explosives specialist and in the years that followed I was deployed as a shooting safety sergeant. My tasks at the time included planning and carrying out troop exercises and clearance operations, as well as monitoring safety regulations on shooting ranges for heavy weapons. As an explosives specialist, I was sent to Afghanistan and Kosovo several times in the years to come on foreign missions, where defusing in the EOD and IED area was part of my everyday military routine. After my period of commitment, I was able to gain extensive experience in logistics, personnel and production planning, quality assurance and disposal in various companies. This was followed by a job as sales manager at EST Energetics GmbH, a company of General Atomics Europe GmbH. The main focus here was the disposal of ammunition and explosives and the planning and implementation of complex projects - worldwide. My path finally led me to Georgsmarienhütte in May 2021. After 2 years as deputy managing director, I succeeded managing director Hartmut Essing in January 2023.
It is very important to me to continue this long-established company in the spirit of its founder and yet to expand the service portfolio with innovative ideas in order to continue to meet the conditions and requirements of today in the future.
